Served twenty years in the U.S. Navy as a Master-at-Arms, Navy-certified as a Small Arms Instructor — the sailor trusted to train other sailors to safely handle, carry, and use a firearm under real-world conditions. That's the same standard he brings to every course at Down-Range Training Academy.
Common questions
Do I need to bring my own firearm?
No — Down-Range Training Academy provides the pistol, ammunition, eye protection, and ear protection for every course. If you already own a firearm and would rather train with it, you're welcome to bring your own at the same price.
Do I need any prior experience?
No. Every course is built for beginners and first-time shooters — sessions start with the fundamentals (stance, grip, sight picture, trigger discipline) before any live fire.
What do I need to bring?
A valid government-issued photo ID — you must be 18 or older, no exceptions. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your scheduled session are honored without penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours, and no-shows, forfeit the session fee.
